5 Easy Ways to Spring Clean you Life
Spring is just around the corner! Now is a good time to spring clean, not only your home, but all aspects of your life that might need a good dust off.
Here’s 5 easy ways to spring clean different aspects of your life.
1. Get rid of Expired Products
Take a look at your beauty products. Are some of them expired? Then it might be time to get rid of them! Here’s how to check if a product is expired.
Some products have an expiration date on the packaging, this makes it pretty easy to check. However, not all products have this. Instead you may find a “Period After Opening” (PAO) symbol. The symbol looks like a little open jar with a number followed by “M”. This shows how long the product lasts after you open it. If it says 12M the product lasts 12 months after opening it.
Check your products and dispose of the ones that are too old.
2. Declutter your Thoughts
If your head is full of thoughts all the time, and you can’t seem to get rid of them, it might be time to spring clean your mind as well.
Try out mindfulness practices such as mindful breathing or meditation to calm your thoughts and promote mental clarity.
Mindful breathing just requires you to focus on your natural breathing pattern without trying to change it. Pay attention to the sensation of air entering and leaving your nostrils, or the way your belly rises and falls with each breath. If your mind wanders, gently bring your focus back to your breath.
Breathing exercises also help the nervous system, counteracting stress and anxiety.

3. Take a Screen Break
Feeling overwhelmed all the time? Then it might be time to take a break from screens and digital devices.
Try to limit screen time right before bed to get better sleep. Also, try to not look at your phone as the first thing in the morning, to get a calm start to the day.
Designate specific times throughout the day to unplug and engage in activities that don’t involve technology, such as reading a book, going for a walk outdoors, or practicing a hobby.
4. Declutter your Space
A clutter-free space can lead to a clearer mind and reduced stress levels.
Start with the rooms you use the most, and go through your belongings. As you do this, practice mindfulness by considering whether each item brings you joy or adds value to your life.
Donate or discard the things that no longer serve you.
5. Say NO and Prioritize your Time
It’s time to declutter your time to make room for what truly matters to you. It is okay to say no to plans that do not make you happy.
We know it can be hard, but try practicing saying no. A no does not need to be negative or dismissive. Instead see it as an opportunity to be honest with your loved ones about your needs.
If you don’t feel comfortable being this honest, simply politely say that you can’t make it – you don’t owe anyone an explanation about how you choose to spend your time.
By consciously choosing how you spend your time, you free up time for what you truly enjoy and who you enjoy spending time with, leading to a more fulfilling and balanced life. Remember to also prioritize some self-care and downtime in your schedule – no matter what that looks like for you.
